It also seems she is afraid of losing her friends, and as such tries to ignore the idea of them leaving. Their animosity for each other began during their first encounter in "Young Blood, Old Souls", when Kikimora, acting on Belos' orders, attempted to have the captured Eda, King, and Lilith petrified at the Conformatorium. Fortunately though, Luz was able to foil her efforts before coercing her into releasing them under the threat of being immolated by one of her fire glyphs.

After a brief battle, mother and daughter manage to escape and have a heart-to-heart that leads to Luz realizing that the one thing she wanted in life was to be understood. This triggers the hatching of her own palisman, a shape-shifting snake that she names Stringbean. The three are reunited with the rest of the team; this proves brief as the Collector, under the impression Luz was out to destroy them, an idea planted by Belos possessing the body of Raine Whispers, separates them; only Luz is spared from being turned into a puppet. The Collector attempts to use Luz's guilt against her, but this proves to be of naught when she notices Amity misremember a passage from The Good Witch Azura, which in turn enables her to break free and reunite with Eda and King. The three are dragged into a series of games by the Collector, which they outsmart him in and upset him. The three talk him down and have him revisit their memories to understand that they too know what it is like to be misunderstood.
Luz accepts as an Azura movie plays on the television and she focuses on the character of Lucy, who betrays the protagonists, causing Luz to worry about how her friends would react if they found out she helped Belos. Following the Brawl, however, Luz joined her friends in stopping Wrath after his mutation into a rampaging monster, having recognized the threat his new form posed, and subdued him once again through her use of her glyph magic. Not long after, the two realize that the monstrous version of Belos that had been chasing them was actually the palismen souls that he had consumed, who were trying to warn them. Although she thought of Amity as being a prissy blue-blood during "Covention", by the time of "Wing It Like Witches" Eda has come to accept her as one of Luz's closest acquaintances. In "Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's Door", upon finding out that Luz wanted to ask Amity out, Eda shows her support for their relationship by carrying an upset Hooty away long enough for the two to be alone. Although, in "Eclipse Lake", Eda, along with King, is shown to be slightly annoyed by Amity's constant efforts to prove herself as an "awesome girlfriend" to Luz, with Eda referring to her as "Bossy Boots" or just "Boots". In the case of Emira and Edric, Eda has had the least amount of interaction with, having only gotten to know them in "Adventures in the Elements" wherein she planned to let them be eaten by the slitherbeast while she made her escape from its cave. She interacted with the siblings again in "Reaching Out" this time being on better terms with them and even admiring Edric's ability for Beast trapping, even praising him when the potion he messed up turned out to be something even better and worth merchandising. She does not hold Eda's flaws against her and instead tries to help her resolve them. Luz does not always share Eda's interests, as she was disgusted by the thought of digging through a trash worm, and sometimes questioned Eda's lessons, leading to her rebelling against her. Though in the end, she realizes how important her lessons truly are when one of those lessons saves her life. In "Hooty's Moving Hassle", Luz is shown to be afraid of Eda's judgment and tries to stick to her rules so as not to be horribly punished. Shortly following her triumph over Belos, the Collector, before their return to the stars, created for Luz a brand new portal door connecting the Owl House to the abandoned house in Gravesfield, allowing Luz and her mother to return to the Human Realm. At some point following this, Camila would purchase the abandoned property, allowing Luz direct access to the portal whenever she wanted.
